A chasaji (茶匙) is a Japanese tea-tool specifically designed to measure and transfer tea leaves into a teapot.
The Tsubame Chasaji is handcrafted by artisans in the Tsubame region of Niigata, Japan, which has a metalworking tradition dating back over 400 years. Each chasaji is hand-hammered to create a dimpled tsuchime (槌目) pattern that improves grip and prevents tea leaves from sticking to the surface.
One scoop with the chasaji is roughly equivalent to 1 serving of any of our teas.
[Instructions for use]
Tilt your bag sideways until the tea leaves fall towards the opening.
Insert the spoon and gently scoop.
